The extension program's purpose is to implement nursing and health practices in the community from the perspective of comprehensive care and actions integrated with education, work, knowledge production, health policy and management within the scope of public policies and especially the SUS.

It is also hoped that the project will be another tool for achieving the requirements contained in the Political Pedagogical Projects of the Nursing Course in: 

•  develop technical and scientific training with quality for professional practice;
• understand health policy in the social context, recognizing the epidemiological profiles of populations;
•  act as a subject in the professional training process focused on the development of skills and teamwork, considering the work process as a guiding axis;
• plan and implement qualification programs for health professionals in order to promote the development of professional competence for care, from the perspective of comprehensiveness;
• and develop, participate in and apply research and/or other forms of knowledge production that aim at professional qualification with increasing mastery and autonomy, according to the standard of ethical-social excellence.
